Planned Parenthood’s “Pledge a Picket” Campaign
Many of you are aware of Planned Parenthood’s “Pledge a Picket” campaign. For those who are not, the idea of the program is for pro-abortion advocates to donate to Planned Parenthood based on the number of pro-life “picketers.”
The campaign is an attempt to discourage and dishearten 40 Days for Life vigil participants and others who stand in vigil for the innocent and helpless unborn children. But, in actuality, the mere existence of the program provides clear and convincing evidence that such vigils and protests are an effective tool in the battle to end legal abortion-on-demand. Why else would they resort to such a cynical approach?
And, even better news: In the final analysis, the “Pledge a Picket” campaign provides a wonderful opportunity to follow Jesus Christ’s example given to us in Romans 12:20 “Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”
We know that this battle is not about money, but is about hearts, minds, souls, lives, and justice — apparently Planned Parenthood has not figured this out yet.
