With the end of the 2008 version of the 40 Days for Life in Kitsap County, it seems a natural and relatively easy step to begin immersing all business hours at the Planned Parenthood on Riddell Road in Bremerton in prayer. This we have begun to do, beginning the Thursday before Easter and continuing until the close of the facility (date unknown at this point – in God’s time).

If you would like to join us, please sign-up for hours here, using the new calendar that is now constrained to Thursdays (only) from 8:00AM to 5:30PM (or when the last PP staff car departs).

IMPORTANT NOTE! NEVER leave the vigil site without someone there to replace you. This is of critical importance since we will need to exchange signs, and the banner cannot remain on the roadside if no one is present. Please schedule your vigil hours with at least 15 minutes beyond your intended time. If your replacement does not appear at the time you are scheduled to depart – call 360-329-4985 and Lori and/or Glenn will make arrangements for a prayer-warrior to be there within 15 minutes of your call. You can also call this number if there are any issues or problems.

EMERGENCY & FILL-IN LIST: We are also compiling a call list of folks who can fill-in in emergencies and when regularly scheduled vigil participants cannot fill their hours of commitment. Please consider this role as well, and email back with your name, contact phone numbers, etc. We will add you to the list!

Exciting News…

SHAWN CARNEY IS COMING TO KITSAP COUNTY THIS COMING WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5th!

Shawn is on the national board of the 40 Days for Life, is the Executive Directory of Coalition for Life, was one of leaders of the first 40 Days for Life campaigns in College Station, TX, and hosted the EWTN show “Being Human.”

Date/Time: Wednesday, March 5th / 8:00-9:30PM
Location: Azteca Restaurant (the back area of the restaurant is reserved for us), 5060 State Highway 303 NE (Wheaton Way), Bremerton, WA 98311 (Click HERE for a map)

Although the program is somewhat fluid, we expect that Shawn will speak to us about the efficacy and vision of this massive and growing national movement – and our place within it.

Then, depending on the weather at the time of his visit, we will either walk or drive the short distance to the vigil location to hold a prayer service. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from and pray with one of the national leaders who helped to begin what has grown to be a critical piece in the puzzle of ending legal abortion-on-demand in our nation and around the world.

A note about food: Although Azteca is not requiring any particular purchase of food/drink, you might think about having dinner at Azteca *BEFORE* Shawn’s anticipated arrival at 8:00PM. Just let them know that you are part of the group reserved under my name that is coming in at 8:00PM – and they will seat you in the back area where we will meet. We expect to depart the restaurant for the vigil site at approximately 8:45PM – so time your dinner accordingly.
